INTERPRETATION OF THE TEST
  1. 1. As the test kit begins to work, a color band will appear at the left section of the result window to show that the test is working properly. This band is the Control Band. Note: Due to the chemical nature of the THC, the color of the Test band is much fainter comparing to the color of the Test band of other drugs of abuse tests. Therefore, it is best to read a test under sufficient amount of lighting.
  2. 2. The right section of the result window indicates the test results. If another color band appears at the right section of the result window, this band is the Test Band.
NEGATIVE: TWO COLOR BANDS
The appearance of two color bands within the result window indicates a negative test result. No THC above the cut-off level has been detected. The color of the Test band may be lighter or darker than that of the Control Band.

POSITIVE: ONE COLOR BAND
The appearance of only one color band within the result window indicates the result is positive, i.e. the specimen contains THC at a concentration above the cut-off level.

INVALID:
A distinct color band should always appear in the left section of the result window. The drug test is invalid if no color band forms in the left section of the result window.

Note. A very faint band in the right section of the result window, visible in 5 minutes, indicates that the amount of THC in the sample is near or below the cut-off level of the test. The urine specimen should be retested, or confirmed with a more specific alternative method such as gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, before a positive determination is made.

Why is a drug test required?
The purposes of most drug testing (pre-employment, post-accident, school, random) is to detect the presence of drug use. Qualitative urine tests are used to quickly screen the sample for the presence of abused drugs. If the sample is positive for a certain drug, further testing takes place by sending the sample to the laboratory for GC/MS quantitative analysis.
 
What is a drug screening test?
A screening test is a rapid diagnostic test that gives you a qualitative (visual) results for presence or absence of the drug. These are also called positive / negative tests interpreted by the number of lines that are present.
 
Are the rapid drug tests as accurate as GC/MS?
Urine drug tests are qualitative screening devices, which means they only determine the presence of drugs at detection limits comparable to SAMHSA cut-off concentration. GC/MS (Das Chromatography / Mass spectroscopy) is a laboratory technique that uses sophisticated equipment quantifies the concentration of drugs in the sample. This technique takes time and is very expensive.
 
What is the expiration date of drug testing devices?
Urine drug tests have a shelf-life of 18 months from the date of manufacturing. The expiration date and Lot # of devices is indicated on the foil pouch. It is recommended that you confirm the expiration date prior to administering a test.
 
Do urine drug testing results hold up in court?
Rapid drug test only provides a preliminary analytical test result - visual - qualitative test. A more specific alternate chemical method must be used in order to obtain a confirmed analytical result - such as gas chromatography / mass spectrometry (GC/MS) - see above. Any result taken to court, must be confirmed through quantitative tests.
 
How long can drugs be detected in a persons system?
Most drugs are visible with in a 7 to 10 day window, depending on the frequency of use and quantity of use. Each individual's system metabolizes drugs and alcohol differently.  It usually takes a few hours after drug use for drugs to be detected in the urine.
